This occurs when the console cannot detect the hard drive.
The console boots and displays error CE-34335-8.
On the PS4 Slim, this error could be caused by a faulty hard drive or a faulty MOSFET behind the SATA connector. (I’ve seen this multiple times on the PS4 Slim).
Diagnostic Steps
Try a new 2.5-inch hard drive or SSD. If the error persists, it might be due to insufficient voltage from the SATA connector.
There is an 8-pin MOSFET (TPS2001D) behind the SATA connector.
If this MOSFET is functional, it should output 5V.
For the MOSFET input voltage to be 5V, the enable voltage must be greater than 2V.
A polo is a dotted image that needs to be measured.
These voltages only appear when the console is powered on.
Repair Steps
This component is widely available on websites like Mouser and Aliexpress.
Replacing the TPS2001D is actually quite simple.
Desolder the old MOSFET using your hot air gun, being careful not to melt the SATA connector.
Clean up the old solder and resolder. Solder a new MOSFET.
After installing the new MOSFET, ensure there is 5V at the output.
Install the hard drive and power on the device to check overall functionality.
