Fixed an issue where the device had no power; the charger drew only 0.2A at 15V, with the voltage gradually dropping. Without the battery connected, the current draw was ~0.275A at 15V.
It wouldn’t turn on.
The charger drew 200mA at 15V, then the current slowly decreased; after unplugging the battery, it was approximately 0.275A at 15V.
It is highly likely that the CPU is faulty. Check if that notorious CPU capacitor near the M92T36 is shorted.
If it is, the only probable cause is a defective CPU.
There might be signs of corrosion or scorching near the MAX17050.
There is another CPU capacitor near the SOT-323-6 IC close to the MAX17050; if that one is also shorted, you can reasonably conclude that the motherboard is beyond repair.
This can be further confirmed by checking for shorted capacitors around the MAX PMIC.
