Playstation 4 cannot connect to charging/sync controllers

The controller or other USB devices cannot connect properly via USB, nor can they connect in safe mode.

Check if there is 5V voltage at the USB port. If so, the problem is likely in the USB circuitry, not the southbridge.

Check if there is 3.3V voltage on the side with the capacitor I mentioned in my post. If it’s 0V or around 2V, the problem is usually with the voltage regulator on the other side of the motherboard.

If the capacitor I mentioned is 2V, you can slowly heat it to see if the voltage increases, or if you have the controller plugged in, see if it starts charging. If the controller lights up or the voltage rises, replace the voltage regulator. This is a common problem with this regulator.
