The system cannot read the disc.
Ensure all cables are plugged in correctly.
Listen/see if the disc spins.
Clean debris from the optical drive.
If the disc doesn’t spin, replace the spindle motor.
If the laser doesn’t move, replace the laser motor.
Adjust the laser’s POT parameters. Measure the POT first. Decrease the resistance counter-clockwise and increase it clockwise. Lower resistance means higher laser power. Lower resistance increases the chance of the laser burning out and forming a ring. Slowly adjust the potentiometer counter-clockwise. Only decrease it by about 50 to 100 ohms. If this doesn’t solve the laser problem, replace the laser head.
Replace the laser.
