Playstation 4 Pro has no picture and no sound

When connected to a TV, the console does not display any images or sound
Example of damaged HDMI port on PS4
The host can be turned on, but there is no image or sound displayed on the TV
Diagnostic Steps
The most common issue preventing any image display on the PS4 Pro is related to the HDMI port or HDMI encoding IC.
Check the HDMI port for bent pins, debris, or physical damage.
Check the connection of the HDMI port to the motherboard for torn solder pads or broken solder joints.
If you have a Mozzwald HDMI adapter and a Mechanic T-824, you can compare your port readings with a reliable one.
Check the choke coil between the HDMI encoder and the HDMI port.
There are four chokes between the encoder and the HDMI port
There are a total of 8 data lines passing through these choke coils (each choke coil carries 2 data signals). The choke coils must be connected in parallel and in series, but not crossed.
Inspect the area around the MN864729 chip for any damage, such as liquid damage or physical damage (cracks, holes).
Check the surrounding components for any short circuits.
Check whether the HDMI circuit is experiencing voltage loss. A properly functioning HDMI circuit must have these voltages when the host is turned on
The simplest method to replace an HDMI interface is to use the “hot plugging” method. Heat the interface from below, and when the solder turns into a liquid state, lift the old interface and install the new one while the solder is still in a liquid state,
After soldering the new interface, ensure that each pin is properly connected to the motherboard pad.
Ensure that the solder is fully wetted at the anchor points on both the top and bottom of the motherboard.
Both PS4 Slim and Pro use HDMI interfaces.
Heat the solder joints of the old choke with a hot air rework station. Heat evenly until the solder melts, and then gently remove the choke coil with tweezers.
After removing the choke coil, use a soldering iron and solder wick to clean the old solder on the soldering pad.
Apply a small amount of solder to the cleaned solder pads on the motherboard.
Adjust the new choke and apply heat (using low-speed airflow to avoid choke detachment). When the solder under the choke melts, surface tension will pull the component into place.
The HDMI circuits of both the PS4 Slim and Pro utilize the same choke coil.
Replace HDMI encoder (MN864729)
Remove and solder the old chip:
If available, install a motherboard heater to warm up the motherboard, as it requires a significant amount of heat.
Heat the MN864729 chip from above using a hot air station or soldering iron. Heat it for a few seconds until the factory solder begins to melt.
Gently push the debris with tweezers. If it moves, it’s ready to be lifted.
While the motherboard is still hot, use solder and a soldering iron to clean off the old solder on the solder pads of the motherboard.
Prepare the motherboard and new chip:
Apply a thin layer of new solder on the cleaned motherboard pads. Avoid applying too much solder, especially on the central square.
Pre-apply a small amount of solder on the solder pads of the new MN864729 chip to ensure good contact.
Welding new chip:
Align the new chip with the motherboard. Match the dots on the chip with the small triangular marks on the motherboard to ensure correct positioning.
Heat the chip from above using a hot air station. Pay attention to whether the solder is melting, which can be judged by slight movement of the chip.
Gently touch the chip with tweezers, allowing surface tension to stabilize it. Avoid using excessive force.
Inspection and cleaning:
Inspect all connections with a microscope. Ensure there are no solder bridges between the pins.
If any connection appears to be faulty, gently touch the affected solder pad with a soldering iron, re-solder, and rectify.
Both the PS4 Slim and Pro use the same HDMI encoder.
Final Test
Basic display and sound test:
Connect the host to the TV or monitor using a high-quality HDMI cable.
The startup confirmation screen and audio output are correct.
Check the picture for clarity, flawlessness, flickering, or distortion, and confirm that there are no issues with audio transmission.
Automatic resolution detection function:
Ensure that the console automatically detects and sets the corresponding resolution.
Test switching between different resolution settings (such as 1080p, 4K) to confirm whether the HDMI encoder is processing correctly.
4K display test:
Connect the PS4 Pro to a TV or monitor that supports 4K resolution and 60Hz
Launch a game or application that supports 4K to verify that the console outputs stable 4K images without stuttering, black screens, or signal loss.
